Equine Activities - a Veterans' Wellbeing Program

We at Equus Ferus are excited to have recently been awarded a grant from the Positive Pathways Programme from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund to offer a project for Veterans that centers around the natural horsepersonship activities.

The project will deliver 12 days of outdoors nature-based equine facilitated wellbeing activities for veterans who want support to improve their mental health. Activities are tailored to ensure inclusivity and diversity, and include: working with horses, driving a horse and cart, learning to ride, plus six online group wellbeing sessions.

The dates on which the in-person outdoor activities will take place are:

  • May: 14th, 15th & 16th
  • July: 2nd, 3rd & 4th
  • August: 6th, 7th & 8th
  • September: 17th, 18th & 19th

Part-funding from the National Lottery

A Successful First Three Runs!

Following the first three runs of this year’s activities, we’ve had the pleasure of meeting and working with some fantastic individuals. Below are some videos, made by our friend Chris, that give a small look into some of the things that have gone on over the course of the program.
